We are now on the downward path to Christmas with only 4 weeks to go. Over the next little while, I am going to give you lots of ideas to create quick and easy Christmas cards.
Today is Part 1 using the Watercolor Christmas set. The set has 3 stylised trees, 3 large bold sentiments and a sentiment for the inside of the card.
There is a kit that you can purchase to use with the set, but I am going to show you how you can recreate similar looks without the kit.
Card 1 – two versions
Tips:
- A very simple look here. The only difference between the two versions is the watercolour wash on the card base. The first one uses Pool Party and the second uses Emerald Envy. Create a watercolour wash using ink and an Aqua Painter.
- Stamp the trees and sentiment on Very Vanilla using Early Espresso ink. Add some colour to some of the trees with an Aqua Painter and Emerald Envy and Real Red inks. Attach some loose Gold Mini Sequins.
- Attach a piece of Real Red cardstock to the card base, add a strip of the Gold Mini Sequin trim and lastly add the art panel with Dimensionals.
Card 2 – two versions
Tips:
- This time the differences are mainly using an embossed layer versus a layer of DSP.
- Supplies for the first card:
- Cardstock: Thick Very Vanilla, Very Vanilla, Real Red
- Ink: Emerald Envy, Real Red, Early Espresso
- Accessories: Holly TIEF, Layering Circles Framelits, Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes, Holly Berry Builder Punch, Dimensionals
- Additional stamp set: Holly Berry Happiness
- Supplies for the second card:
- Cardstock: Thick Very Vanilla, Very Vanilla, Real Red, Quilted Christmas DSP
- Ink: Emerald Envy, Real Red, Early Espresso
- Accessories: Layering Circles Framelits, Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes, Dimensionals
- Additional stamp set: Holly Berry Happiness
I will be back next week with a couple more quick and easy variations using this stamp set.
