My first MDS card

It hasn’t taken me long to start playing with the new MDS software. I can’t believe how easy it is to use; and the amount of content, even in the 30 day FREE trial version is very impressive.

I thought I would start with something simple. The DSP is Sun Garden and uses the In Colors that retired last year. The beauty of MDS is that nothing every really retires so you can continue to use colours, images, DSP, etc. that are no longer current. I created a Lucky Limeade frame around the DSP to emulate another layer. A Pink Pirouette taffeta trim embellishment was added across the lower part of the image. Unfortunately, it does not show as well as I thought. Next time I will use a darker colour. This was then printed onto Very Vanilla card stock and layered onto a base of Soft Suede.

On another page, I created a Lucky Limeade Decorative Label Punch layer, added a Wide Oval Punch layer and added an image from Bring On The Cake. I coloured different parts of the image to match the colours in the DSP – Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede.

The colours produced match the actual inks and card stock so well that it is difficult to tell the difference between the digital version and the ‘real’ version. Not only does MDS produce cards, it also does scrapbook pages, photo books, calendars, tags, swatches, and anything else that takes your fancy. There are many templates if you can’t find inspiration, or customise your own designs. Keep checking in to see what else I create with MDS.
