Cards for ‘Boys’

Today I have put together a couple of cards that could be used for masculine celebrations. I can’t take all the glory as I used some of the great ideas from the current Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogue.

This first card is made with So Saffron as the base. It has then been layered with Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and finally Kiwi Kiss. I used the Chocolate Chip marker to colour the inside of one of the stamps from Polka Dot Punches to give the circles. Versamark was then used on one of the Sprinkles stamps to give added background. As a finishing touch, I added 3 small eyelets to the bottom right hand corner.

The next card uses no stamps at all. A sentiment can be added as required. Here the base is Bordering Blue. A strip of Night of Navy is then added, topped with a smaller strip of Old Olive which has been put through a crimper. More Mustard is then used for another strip through the crimper. I used a small hole punch for the Bordering Blue tiny circles which were adhered to the card with Glue Dots.

  1. They do work as boy cards, but i wouldn’t mind getting one like that. I like the first one, because you’ve used a circle stamp (Polka Dot Punches sure is useful!) and also eyelets (that are circle… dah!) I think it works well. The second one is quite vertical and beautissimo! All in all great cards (as usual, you do know I’m getting quite jealous right?)
