Felted Cardstock

Each week, Splitcoaststampers has a new technique. The most recent one was Felted Cardstock. This technique uses printed napkins and fuses the image to cardstock using plastic wrap. There are so many interesting designs on napkins these days, it was a pleasure to try some of them with this technique. I have used a few different napkins to try out the technique, but at this stage, I only have one card to show you. I gave a couple of others to my sister before taking pictures of them.

For this card, I used the scallop border punch along the long front edge of Basic Gray cardstock. I then folded the cardstock to leave a small part of the back edge showing. On this back edge, I have layered a small piece of felted cardstock from one of the napkins. The front of the card was then stamped in Going Gray ink with the Sanded background stamp, and felted cardstock images from another matching napkin were punched out using the scallop circle punch, the wide oval punch and the corner rounder punch for the frog. Each of the images were edged with Not Quite Navy ink, and the birthday sentiment from the Sincere Salutations set was stamped on the oval image also using Not Quite Navy Ink.
