My Meadow with Power of Hope for the Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers

Here is this week’s Color Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Click on the link to find out more about the challenge.

Here are the colours for this week’s challenge ….

… and here is my card

Tips:

  • The combination of colours today works well with these background builder stamp sets.
  • I stamped the geisha on Pool Party and Mango Melody DSP, fussy cut the dress and umbrella and paper pieced them onto the outline image on the art panel.
  • After adding the sentiment, I embossed the art panel with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder twice – at right angles. This creates a linen look (a little difficult to see in the photo).
  • Supplies:
    • Stamp Sets: My Meadow, Power of Hope, So Sentimental
    • Cardstock: Pool Party, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Pool Party DSP, Mango Melody DSP
    • Ink: Pool Party, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow, Memento Tuxedo Black
    • Accessories: Subtle 3D EF
  • … the inside and envelope

Why not have a go at this challenge? I would love to see your projects.

  1. I dont have a lot of stamps but the ones I do have were gifted to me by a late girlfriend and they are mostly CTMH. I am actually in the process of photocopying all the stamps and putting them into a stamp index under different categories and cross-referencing some; e.g., animal and x-ref with sayings etc. etc. (like I have done with the Meerkat stamp I got from you for free). I would dearly love the Power of Hope stamp set but alas, I will just admire your card. XX M

  2. Thanks Mal. I have used a couple of different sets. The geisha and the tree are from Power of Hope, and the birds, gazebo, bridge, river and grass are from My Meadow. Apart from the geisha, you may already have stamps that will give you a similar serene scene. Sometimes it is just a case of getting out some stamps, sitting them on the table and look at them for a few days to see how they might work together. xx

  3. Such a serene card Annette but I love anything Japanese/Buddhist inspired. Wish I could afford to spend to get that stamp set but alas I cant so I will enjoy looking at your card. XX Mal
