One of the recent trends is to use embossing folders as stamps to create backgrounds for your projects. This week’s Technique Challenge [TLC482] on Splitcoaststampers was to use this technique.
I used the Petals-a-Plenty TIEF and some Tim Holtz Distress Stains (Fired Brick, Faded Jeans and Dusty Concord) with Watercolor Paper. An image from Thoughts & Prayers was added using Stazon Jet Black ink, and some flowers punched with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and Calypso Coral, Tempting Turquoise and Perfect Plum card stocks. Small Basic Pearls were added to the centres of the flowers. The sentiment was stamped on Naturals White, punched with the Word Window Punch, and layered onto a Basic Black Modern Label Punch shape. The art panel was then layered onto Basic Black and then onto a base of Naturals White.
I think I may have spritzed a little too much water in some parts, but I think it still creates a stunning background.
