Creative Crew Window Frames Trinket Box

The third Creative Crew project is: “CCREW0913HF – Holiday Focus: 911 Remembrance. It’s not a holiday, but it’s a day that has been imprinted on our minds. Make a project with the Big Shot that allows you to remember a day from your past.”

When I was very young, my grandmother used to have lots of trinket boxes on her dressing table. I thought that the baroque image in Smoky Slate / Crushed Curry colours from the Eastern Elegance designer papers brought back memories of her. I used the Window Frames Framelits and this designer paper to make a trinket box in her memory.

I started by cutting two of the largest Window Frames Framelits in Smoky Slate. I then measured inside the frame and cut out Smoky Slate card stock to make a box 8.5cm [3-3/8″] square and 2.5cm [1″] high. This was adhered to the frames with Tombow Multipurpose glue. A piece of the Eastern Elegance DSP was cut with the second largest Framelit and added to the top of the box. To create the flower, I used one of the Secret Garden Framelits to cut some die cuts from Smoky Slate and Crushed Curry card stock. Using a bone folder, I broke the fibres and separated the card stock into two layers. The flower was put together with an Antique Brad and adhered to the top of the box.
