Whilst doing some blog surfing, I came across this beautiful way of using the poinsettia flower from Watercolor Winter. Thanks so much Beverly for the inspiration.
I started with a base of Naturals Ivory. A piece of Early Espresso Core’dinations was run through the Woodgrain TIEF and then sanded to provide extra texture. This was then cut with a Labels Framelit. Next, I took a piece of Very Vanilla and ran it through the Lacy Brocade TIEF, and cut it with the same Labels Framelit.
The outline poinsettia image was stamped in Real Red on Very Vanilla, and using a Post-It Note for a mask, I stamped it two more times, slightly overlapping each. Using a blender pen and a marker, I watercoloured the flowers and then fussy cut around them. I added some Home Made Bling [gold glitter not SU] to the centre of the flowers and added them to the card with dimensionals. The sentiment from Greetings of the Season was stamped directly on the card with Early Espresso.
A bright, slightly vintage Christmas card, don’t you agree?
