Another masculine card today as I have decided I need to build my ‘stash’ of masculine cards.
This time, I have used a set called The Open Sea which is available in the Summer Mini until 31 March. I did not want to make it too nautical, more vintage with a hint of the sea. The base is Night of Navy, layered with Riding Hood Red DSP. As with my recent bookmark [see Masculine Bookmark post], I have used the collage technique for the background of both pieces of Very Vanilla. I then stamped the world in Soft Suede and fussy cut it, sponged with Crumb Cake and added it to the main background. Island Indigo Baker’s Twine was used to create a sailor’s knot to wrap around the lower collaged piece. The anchor was stamped in Soft Suede and fussy cut. A small piece of the Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the anchor which was added with dimensionals.
Debbie, I used a tutorial at http://barspaperpursuits.blogspot.com.au/2010/02/thank-you-sailors-knot-tutorial.html.
Thanks for your interest.
