Happy Birthday Matthew

One of my nephews has just turned 14. In previous years, I have tried to use images of his presents on the card. This year, I thought I would try something completely different – including a new technique that the lovely Tanya showed us last week. Thanks again Tanya for the great workshop and lovely gift. I hope to share it here over the coming weeks.

Back to Matthew’s card. I used the polished stone technique and then put the finished cardstock into a Cuttlebug embossing folder and ran it through the Sizzix BigKick. I am very happy with the outcome. I may have to play around a bit more with the metallic ink which is very thick, so that the metal is more evenly spread over the image. But then again, stones are not generally uniform in pattern are they?
