Adding colour to Mixed Florals with Pastels

A friend was asking me how to use pastels so I decided it was about time I dug out my set of Stampin’ Pastels and made a few cards.

Cards 1 and 2: Stamp the images on Basic White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Stamp the image on Masking Paper and die cut. Place the masking paper die cut over the stamped image and colour the background with Pastels and Sponge Daubers. Remove the masking paper and colour in the images with Pastels and a cotton bud. The echinaceas image was die cut with a Perennial Postage Die and add to an Early Espresso card base. Stamp and die cut a few lady birds, colour and attach to the card with Dimensionals. The tulips were die cut with Everyday Arches Dies and attached to Azure Afternoon card base. Some Brushed Brass Butterflies complete the card.

Cards 3 and 4: The technique is similar to the previous except this time use Water Painters or a paint brush and water with the Pastels. This will give a slightly deeper colour to the colouring.
