Sentimental Wishes and Peaceful Season for some early Christmas inspiration

Today I have Christmas inspiration using some of the new products in the 2024 September-December Mini Catalogue which went live last week.

Card 1:

  • These beautiful candles are from the Sentimental Wishes stamp set (which has matching dies). I coloured them with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in Real Red, Shaded Spruce and Pretty Peacock.
  • The background paper is from the Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is a little difficult to see in the photo but there are lovely gold patches across it.

Card 2:

  • The first step on this one was to create the gold dipped look across the base. I added some Multipurpose Liquid Glue by dabbing it on the Thick Basic White card base and letting it sit until it was tacky before dipping it in Gilded Leafing. A sponge brayer was then used above the gilding to lightly add Shaded Spruce ink.
  • The stocking is another image from the Sentimental Wishes set, coloured with Stampin’ Blends and die cut.
  • ‘Christmas’ was die cut from Real Red cardstock and a Peaceful Season Die.
  • After attaching the ‘Christmas’ and stocking die cuts, ‘merry’ (from the Peaceful Season set) was stamped on the card base.
  • The sponge brayer added ink to the flap of the envelope and the inside of the card.

Card 3:

  • This one uses the holly image from the Sentimental Wishes set as well as some die cut sprigs.
  • The ‘Christmas’ is the negative die cut left over from card 2.
  • Another technique for the card base was used here. I used a palette knife to swipe some Gold Metallic Enamel Effects across the base. Once it was dry I used a rubber brayer to add Shaded Spruce ink. The ink over the enamel effects took away from the gold but left a shiny green (like what you see in metallic ornaments).
