Using the Eclipse Technique with a Cover Die

Today I am creating an eclipse card using Nature’s Harvest stamp set and the retired Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die. You can create this technique with any large open die and a detailed stamp.

Tips:

  • Cut four pieces of Basic White 10.5cm x 14.8cm.
  • Use a stamp positioner to stamp the floral image in the same place on two of the pieces.
  • Die cut one of the stamped pieces and the two blank pieces.
  • Adhere the three die cut pieces together with the stamped image on the top.
  • Align the die cuts over the stamped image and adhere. Trim down to 9.9cm x 13.2cm.
  • Attach to a Basic Black layer on a Crushed Curry card base.
  • Stamp the bee on Basic White and fussy cut. Colour with Crushed Curry and attach with Dimensionals.
  • Decorate inside and envelope to match.
  • Supplies:
    • Stamp Set: Nature’s Harvest, Garden Wishes
    • Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Basic White
    • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Crushed Curry
    • Accessories: Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die, Adhesive Sheets, Dimensionals, Wink of Stella
