Using up your Designer Series Paper to create quick and easy cards

Today I have used some retired DSP to create a couple of quick and easy cards. This layout is a great way to showcase and ‘use up’ your beautiful papers.

Card 1:
The card base is Gray Granite with Delicate Desert DSP and Cajun Craze cardstock. Bough Punch, Stripes 3D Embossing Folder and Something Fancy Dies were used to add texture. The sentiment is from Biggest Wish.

Card 2:
This one has a Parakeet Party card base with Flowers & More DSP and Orchid Oasis cardstock. Texture and embellishments were created with Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, Handmade Tag Punch, 2022-2024 In Color Pearls, and Layering Diorama Dies. The sentiment is from Irresistible Blooms.

Instructions:

  • Cut a piece of cardstock for the base 10.5cm x 14.8cm (4¼” x 5½”).
  • Cut a piece of DSP 10cm x 30.5cm (4″ x 12″).
  • Score the DSP at 14.3cm and 28.6cm (5¼” and 10½”).
  • Fold the DSP on the first score line and fold it back on the second score line. (The folded back piece will be much smaller on the metric card as our cards are longer than the imperial cards.)
  • Attach the DSP to the card base.
  • Adhere the turned back piece of DSP to the ‘front’ of the card.
  • Take a piece of cardstock 10cm x 3.5cm (4″ x 1″) (in a colour that matches the DSP) and emboss it with your favourite folder. Attach it to the DSP card front lining it up against the turned up DSP.
  • Add sentiment and embellishments.
  • Add a shaped piece of neutral cardstock to the inside to write your message.
