Today I am participating in a challenge on the Less is More site. This site promotes clean and simple cards and shows that you don’t need lots of layers and embellishments to produce a beautiful card.
The challenge this week has the theme ‘Stars’. This brings to mind celebrations such as birthdays and Christmas. My entry portrays a starry night with the Christmas tree star as the focal point.
On Whisper White cardstock, I sponged an oval shape using Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy and Night of Navy inks with a mask over the space for the Christmas tree. I then inked the tree from Season of Joy with Basic Gray and stamped it off twice before placing it slightly off from the masked tree space. This gives a three dimensional effect.
The single star from Season of Joy was stamped with Basic Gray, fussy cut, and added to the top of the tree with a glue dot. Stars were then added to the night sky with a white gel pen. These together with the main star and some parts of the tree had Dazzling Diamonds added to make them sparkle. A sentiment from Many Merry Messages was then stamped in Not Quite Navy to complete the scene.

A beautiful card, love the image and the colours too.
