Today, I am privileged to be participating in a joint blog hop with Pootlers from the UK and our own Artful Stampers.

There is no specific theme, so I have created a couple of variations on a theme with watercolouring using the Rose Wonder Stamp Set and matching Rose Garden Thinlits.

For the first card:

• Stamp the image in Basic Gray on Watercolor Paper and heat emboss it with Clear Embossing Powder.
• Watercolour the image with Sweet Sugarplum and Pear Pizzazz inks and an Aqua Painter, and create a shadow effect using Sahara Sand ink and an Aqua Painter.
• I wasn’t entirely happy with the effect, so I used the matching Thinlits to cut the leaves with Pear Pizzazz cardstock and the flower with Rose Red cardstock to overlay the heat embossing on the stamped image.
• Add a sentiment using black ink.
• Layer the art panel along the centre of a Pear Pizzazz card base and add thin strips of Basic Black down each side.
• Use an Aqua Painter to splatter black ink over the card for extra texture.
• Don’t leave the inside naked – dress it up with matching images.

For the second card:

• Stamp the image in Basic Gray on Watercolor Paper.
• Watercolour the flower with Blushing Bride and Rose Red inks and an Aqua Painter.
• Watercolour the leaves with Wild Wasabi and Old Olive inks and an Aqua Painter.
• Die cut the outline from the matching Thinlits using Basic Black cardstock and overlay on the coloured image.
• Stamp a sentiment using black ink.
• Add the art panel to the centre of a Rose Red card base.
• Use an Aqua Painter to splatter black ink over the card for extra texture.
• Dress the inside of the card.

It is amazing to see how different the two cards have turned out, just by using different coloured frames.

Ink: Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, Old Olive, Basic Black
Stamps: Rose Wonder
Accessories: Rose Garden Thinlits, Aqua Painter
