Magical Masking

I am trying to keep up to date with my Splitcoaststampers challenges this week. I find they keep me on my toes for inspiration. Today, I have combined the Technique and Colour Challenges. The technique is Magical Masking. Using strips of masking tape run across ink pads and pressed quickly against glossy cardstock, you get a very pretty background. The Colour Challenge is White, Sahara Sand and Basic Gray.

My base card stock is Sahara Sand, layered with Basic Gray. I then used the colours Sahara Sand and Basic Gray for my magical masking stripes on glossy white card stock. The flower image from Just Believe was inked in Basic Gray over the magical background. A strip of Sahara Sand, stamped in Basic Gray with a sentiment from Just Believe finishes off the card.

Enjoy

  1. HI Terry,

Thanks for your query on the magical masking technique. You put the sticky side of the masking tape onto the ink pad and then press it onto the glossy card stock. Then rip it off – similarly to waxing your legs. The sticky side is what gives the mottled effect.
