The SUO challenge this week is ‘Think Spring [or Autumn]. Here in Australia, autumn is slowly starting to show itself. So, of course, my entry is based on autumn. A perfect choice today as it is a miserable wet day, but luckily not too cool yet.
I have used the versatile tree from Thoughts & Prayers. I stamped it on Very Vanilla using Soft Suede, then used More Mustard and Riding Hood Red markers to ‘thump’ the leaves to give the impression of the leaves turning for autumn. I then coloured a few of the leaves with the mustard and red and placed them ‘falling’ below the tree. The three colours were then used in the Color Spritzer to add texture. The corners of the panel were punched with the Corner Rounder before layering on a Soft Suede Top Note Die cut. This was then added to a Crumb Cake base.
I couldn’t find a current sentiment that really said autumn, so I resorted to ‘Warm Wishes’ from the retired Cheer & Wishes set. This was stamped on one of the Four Frames decorative label images in Soft Suede. The bird was coloured with the same three colours as used on the rest of the card. The Decorative Label Punch was used for this image and its back layer. This was attached using Dimensionals.
The result … an autumn card wishing warmth to the recipient.

“Thumping” is such a fun technique, and you really showed it well with this card! Love the falling leaves under the tree, too. Thanks for joining us this week at SUO Challenges.

Very innovative with the leaf branches under the tree and the warm wishes sentiment. Thanks for joining SUO Challenges this week. And thanks for pointing out the link issues… should be fixed now.

What a great autumn card. Love the way you “thumped” the color onto the leaves. Thanks for sharing your card with us at SUO Challenges.
